Residential LED RGB Lighting System LEDs are just beginning to emerge as a viable alternative to traditional artificial sources of light. This is exciting because the LED has the potential to offer more flexibility than any other light source available. The manipulation of light coloring that was previously only available through hardware filtering can be accomplished and changed on the fly. This project aims to be a proof-of-concept which explores the use of high-brightness RGB LEDs as a primary source of ambient light in a home environment. The system is designed to give the user an unprecedented level of control over his lighting using both wireless and wire line digital communication.
