Many calls we
have received over the years have to do with how can I repair a pad on a circuit board to replace a bad capacitor or other surface mount part. We also hear of times when designers have produced a first batch of boards and need to add a part such as a resistor to tweak it to the right value for instance.
We have not been deaf to your calls from the lab wilderness...it just took us a while to squeeze something into our R&D time. Here is a sneak peak at SchmartPatch(name may change).
This product will be a strip of thin PCB with a number of SMD package sizes such as 0603 or 0804. You will be able to cut off what you need and using the adhesive on the back of it adhere it to a circuit board for prototyping, or optionally use a stronger adhesive for repair or long term use. You can then use wire or conductive ink to make a connection to the circuit. Below is an example.
Schmartboard has been at work thinking out of the box this year. The fruits of our labor will be released throughout the rest of 2014. All of products are based on input from you, our customers. Please continue to communicate with us at info@schmartboard.com or on our social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter
