​ The Joys of Giving Back to the Community-Ohlone College

Schmartboard believes in giving back to our community. By community we mean both local geographically or our community of users, which is worldwide. Examples of our involvement in our user community are many of the user groups for Robotics, Electronics and other DIY groups. A great current example is the yearly BotBrawl that is run by the Central Illinois Robotics Club. Schmartboard has been proudly involved for a few years now.

While we enjoy being a part of the many clubs and organizations events, the real enjoyment comes from hands on involvement with local educational and community groups. Schmartboard has had the honor of partnering with Ohlone College in Fremont, CA to help teach the lab work for entry level electronics courses. It is a rewarding experience watching many students who may come in the first lab, having never held a soldering iron to having a good competency by the last lab. Ohlone is an exceptional Community College, who's students many times go on to top local universities such as Berkeley and Stanford.
